    Upma made from rava, suji or semolina is a very popular, delicious and healthy dish, and it is a great choice for breakfast. First roast the suji then cooked with some fried vegetables of your choice, spices and water. Later it is garnished with roasted peanuts or cashews. This suji upma recipe is not only easy but also quick to make, this dish can be made in just 20 - 25 minutes.

    To make suji upma, first roast the semolina until starts giving off a nutty aroma and it turns light brown. Heat ghee or oil in a pan and add urad dal, chana dal and mustard seeds. When the mustard starts crackling, add chopped onions, ginger and green chillies and fry till the onions turn translucant.

    Then add chopped vegetables such as peas, carrots and potatoes and fry for a minute. Add some salt and water and let it boil. When it starts boiling, turn heat to low, now add roasted semolina while stirring continuously so that no lumps remain. Cover the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes, till it is cooked well and absorbs whole water. Add a little ghee and mix well, garnished with cashew and serve.
