    Soy Milk

    Soy foods and soy milk has a good source of minerals, carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins and other nutrients. One can consume soy milk instead of dairy milk, although soy milk is equivalent to dairy milk, but it has some different qualities like taste, aroma and some other characteristics. Soya milk is easily prepared by soaking the soybeans and a smooth paste is made by grinding soaked beans. The soy paste is then boiled in water for about 15 - 20 minutes and filtered to remove insoluble soy residue. People from many Asian countries like Japan, Singapore etc. consumed large amounts of soy milk, soy milk is becoming popular in western countries as well. Soy milk, like cow's milk, has a good amount of protein, but it has a much lower saturated fat content than cow's milk. Cow milk contains lactose but soy milk does not contain, so soy milk is safe and good for the people with lactose intolerance.
