Puri, also known as poori, originating from the Indian subcontinent, is a deep-fried bread made of wheat flour. Eaten at breakfast as a light meal. It is usually served with potato curry or bhaji, but it can also be eaten with sweet dishes like suji halwa or kheer. Puris are usually eaten at breakfast. Along with other vegetarian food, it is also served in special occassions or ceremonial functions as part of prasad.
